Anita has a keen ability to generate conversation. Her fun-loving personality and sense of humour combined with skillful questioning creates an environment of safety that allows individuals to open up to deeper conversations.

She has worked with the RCMP for the past 20 years educating and training Police Officers Resiliency Strategies for both Physical and Mental health.  She graduated with an MA from the University of Alberta where she focused on Employee Wellness and Behaviour Modification. She has an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, with a Certified Exercise Physiologist designation, is an athlete who loves travel and trekking, and a mother to two young men.

Since 1997 Anita has been involved with the RCMP Peer Support program. She is trained in Critical Incident Stress De briefings, and has been involved with supporting Police officers who are in post trauma crisis.  More recently her time is spent as a Trainer, teaching police officers; Road to Mental Readiness (R2MR), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Her primary focus has been on the impact of organizational and operational stress, and how it affects all aspects of an individual’s wellness; physical, psychological, social and emotional.

As an Erickson Coaching International graduate, Anita’s interest in Psychology and Neuro-Science continues to enlighten her in learning better techniques for assisting individuals dealing with Operational Stress Injuries.  She is an active member of the Mental Health Police Advisor Committee in Alberta and the Canadian Law Enforcement Committee which are instrumental in developing programs towards increasing the awareness of Mental Health and Suicide in the Law Enforcement community. Anita has the gift of helping people see the lighter side of situations and truly wants to make a difference in their lives.
