About Me
Searching for Safe is a trauma-informed coaching practice founded by Michael Niconchuk, a practitioner and researcher at the nexus of neurobiology, trauma recovery, and peacebuilding. With 15 years of experience designing and managing interventions in complex emergencies and post-conflict environments, Niconchuk has led programs in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Türkiye, and beyond, focusing on refugee mental health and the rehabilitation of individuals involved in violent armed groups. His work centers psychological repair and bio-psychosocial-spiritual health as core to conflict transformation and peacebuilding.

As founder of Searching for Safe, Niconchuk offers a reflective space for individuals and leaders navigating transition, adversity, or the legacies of trauma. The practice explores safety as an active, embodied process shaped by neurobiology, language, and culture. Using trauma-informed coaching, clients align their actions with values, fostering resilience and clarity.
